Love is His Meaning: At prayer with Julian of Norwich
a quiet day with Christopher Chapman.
15th February 2020
Julian of Norwich was a woman of prayer, a spiritual guide and the most down to earth of theologians. She lived in a turbulent time and sought to make a sense of how a good God could allow difficult things to happen.
In this day we will explore the relevance of Julian’s teaching on prayer for our own sometimes complex and challenging lives.
The day will interweave input with time for personal prayer and reflection.
Take time in St Katharines extraordinary urban oasis, a chance to step aside from the City but not leave it.
The day includes welcome coffee and pastries, lunch and afternoon pot of tea and cake.
Cost – £35
Christopher is an experienced spiritual director and retreat leader. Between 2009 and 2016 he was Spirituality Adviser for the Anglican Diocese of Southwark. He is a guest director for individually guided retreats at St. Beuno’s Jesuit Retreat Centre and an Associate Tutor for St. Augustine’s College of Theology. Christopher’s first book, Seeing in the Dark [Canterbury Press 2013] examines how we meet God within experiences of struggle and confusion.
