Wholeness, health and healing ~ a poetry and prayer residential retreat with Judy Dinnen & Paul Hunt

We are delighted to introduce a new programme of led residential retreats during 2017. As such we are looking forward welcoming Judy and Paul in conjunction with the Creative Arts Retreat Movement ( CARM ) to lead this three night retreat with poetry and prayer.

Given this residential is around St.Luke`s day it will be a particularly special to take creative time around this theme of wholeness, health and healing.

We shall be seeing this theme in its widest sense and the poetry which we share together will be related to this in some way. There will be times of silence, worship (both following our own theme and joining the community prayer when appropriate), some group sharing , and time for personal reflection on the poetry including writing our own poems for those who wish to (but this is entirely optional).

You do not need to be `a poet` to come on this retreat but to have a `heart` for poetry is an advantage.`

We invite you to come and stay at our lovely Urban Oasis and find some space and inspiration.

Cost for this residential is £339

brief sketches of Judy and Paul:

Revd.Judy Dinnen-poetry tutor and chaplain.

`I am a parish priest and a hospital chaplain in Herefordshire. I am also involved in spiritual accompanying and vocations work. I have an MA in the practise and teaching of creative writing and belong to Lapidus, an association for professionals working in the field of creative writing and personal development. I encourage playing with words to explore inner journeys, hopes, and theological understanding.
Personally I write poetry, including material for Wild Goose Publications, but I tend to offer creative writing workshops rather than just poetry, when working with clergy or the homeless or neighbourhood groups`.

Revd.Paul Hunt

`I am an Anglican priest, retired now from parish work and living in Malvern . I spent over twenty years as a mission partner with the Church Mission Society, living in South East Asia and in Iran, and then responsible for recruiting and selecting professional people to work alongside the local church in Africa and Asia. I have been part of the CARM network for 20 years, mainly acting as chaplain on poetry/prayer retreats both in the UK and overseas. I have developed a love of poetry in later life and write a bit and find it immensely helpful in my own spiritual life and work. I act as `mentor/spiritual guide and was ,until recently, Spirituality Adviser in the diocese of Worcester. I continue to lead retreats and quiet days for parishes and groups.
