Something More: encountering the beyond in everyday urban life. A quiet day with John Pritchard

‘Many people see city life as exciting but ultimately oppressive. But why should that be? If God is the source and goal of everything, that must include the vibrant contradictions of urban life. In this day of spacious reflection we will explore how the ‘something more’ of God’s presence leaks into everyday urban experience – if we know how to look.’

John Pritchard was Bishop of Oxford until his retirement in 2014. He was formerly Bishop of Jarrow, and before that Archdeacon of Canterbury, following some time as Warden of Cranmer Hall, Durham. He continues to write, speak at conferences, lead retreats – and watch cricket.
